BPO HR Forum, set to a later date

We would like to tell everyone who were interested in joining the BPO HR Forum that this event has been postponed to a later date, due to some technical difficulties. The date hasn’t been finalized yet however. But we will make sure to keep everyone posted about this.

“BPO HR and Recruitment Forum” Press Release

Davao City is fast emerging as the leading ICT Hub in Mindanao. In a recent survey done by the prestigious Foreign Direct Investment Magazine, Davao City was ranked number 10 overall as “The Ten Asian Cities of the Future”. While it points to a promising future for the City, there continues to be a pressing need for local schools and training institutions to prepare the proper infrastructure to attract Business Process Outsourcing companies such as Call Centers, Medical Transcription, Accounting and Back Office Outsourcing among others.

ICT Davao Inc. in cooperation with various partner agencies brings the Davaoenos the BPO Human Resource & Recruitment forum to be held at the Royal Mandaya Hotel and the NCCC Activity center on June 27-29, 2008. It is designed to solidify Davao as the premier source of quality BPO human resource and set the future for the sustainable development of the labor pool and industry.

The event promotes the forging of a strong partnership between the BPO companies and education/training institutions. We propose to match school participants (teachers and guidance counselors) with the HR/recruitment staff of the BPOs during a 2 day Job Fair. This will allow schools first hand experience in the conduct and flow of job interviews so that they may compare and benchmark these against the current capabilities of their institutions and propose changes and improvements to their curriculum to improve the English and other related skill of their students.
